Ras El Hanout means "the owner of the shop". And this name completely corresponds to the truth. After all, only the owner of the shop is able to put together a huge number of ingredients in the right proportions. The composition of this, truly unique, spice includes up to 30 ingredients.
The mixture is based on cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Also, the composition includes coriander, cumin, turmeric, green cardamom, cloves, sweet pepper and many other plants, herbs and flowers.
In different countries, this seasoning is prepared differently, but only in Israel all the plants used in this spice grow on the Holy Land. Growing up in severe climatic conditions, they acquire additional taste and even medicinal properties. Add a little "Ras el hanout" in a meat or vegetable dish and you can surprise even the most sophisticated gourmet. The seasoning also fits perfectly with fish dishes, soups and cereals.
