Sesame (from the Latin Sesamum - an oil plant) is a plant in the pods of which sesame seeds ripen. There are several types of sesame seeds: white, yellow, brown and black.
Seeds have a characteristic taste - gentle, but at the same time a little spicy. The influence of sesame on the body is extremely beneficial. Sesame contains a huge amount of oil, useful for the stomach, which, moreover, consists of acids of organic origin.
The sesame seeds contain powerful antioxidants, carbohydrates, proteins, amino acids and several vitamins (A, B, E, C, PP), as well as a number of useful fatty acids. The sesame is fine prophylactic and helps with normalization of substances in organism, participate in prophylaxis of illnesses of bones and joints, cancer, sharply reduces cholesterol level. Moreover, the sesame brings harmful toxins out of an organism. Sesame is also recommended for pregnant women due to the high amount of calcium and other elements necessary for the development of the fetus, but its amount should be strictly limited. One teaspoon a day is enough. A small amount can be added to salads or pastries.
